BNSF Intermodal and Logistics Park KC

Transportation via all modalities will soon converge in Edgerton, Kansas. When the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway opens its intermodal facility — and the surrounding Logistics Park KC comes to life — a city built by the railroad will return to its roots. Coming full circle, with open arms Edgerton embraces the growth and development that is knocking at its doorstep.

BNSF Intermodal

Edgerton will soon be home to a 1,000-acre development that will contain a 440-acre BNSF Intermodal Facility and the 560-acre Logistics Park-KC. The BNSF Intermodal Facility will provide businesses with a direct connection to the global supply chain via the BNSF's transcontinental railroad that begins in Long Beach, California and terminates in Chicago, Illinois. The facility will provide multi-modal transportation for many goods being imported from China and the Pacific Rim. The facility will offer companies the ability to quickly and efficiently ship goods by rail and truck to their final destinations.

BNSF Intermodal
Kansas City is an excellent place for the Intermodal Facility because the Kansas City metropolitan area is one of the leading rail and distribution centers in the United States. With easy transportation access via rail and air, local and regional markets, Kansas City is positioned to serve the Midwest as a distribution hub well into the future.

Logistics Park Kansas City

Logistics Park Kansas City is the latest Inland Port to be developed by NorthPoint Development, BNSF's real estate development partner for this project. Logistics Park Kansas City, located in Edgerton, Kansas, 30 miles southwest of Kansas City, is estimated to have 1,000 acres of land for an intermodal facility and seven million square feet of distribution and warehouse facilities. The Logistics Park will be adjacent to Interstate 35, State Highway 56 and the future BNSF Intermodal Facility (operational by 2013).
