City-wide Clean-Up

May 20, 2023

City-Wide Clean-Up is scheduled for May 20, 2023. Items must be on the curb by 7 a.m. Only items that can be lifted by 2 people are allowed.

ITEMS PICKED UP CURBSIDE:

  • Appliances without CFCs
  • Furniture
  • Carpet-Carpet must be cut into 4 ft. rolls weighing no more than 65 lbs.
  • Construction debris

ITEMS NOT ALLOWED:

🚫 Hazardous materials, like household chemicals and paint
🚫 Appliances with CFCs, like refrigerators, freezers, A/Cs
🚫 Concrete
🚫 Any heavy item that cannot be lifted by 2 people

HAZARDOUS MATERIALS: Hazardous items, like paint and household chemicals, will not be collected.  Those can be recycled at the Olathe Household Hazardous Waste or at Johnson County Hazardous Waste Disposal. Appointments are required.

THESE ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE DISPOSED OF CURBSIDE, BUT CAN BE DROPPED OFF AT PUBLIC WORKS FROM 9AM – 1 PM (corner of Nelson and Sunflower):

  • Yard waste
  • Freezers and other appliances with CFCs,
  • Tires*
  • Oil Batteries

*Charges Apply: $3 per tire 16” and under, $5 per tire 17” to 22”, $25 for tractor/equipment tires.

NO PLASTIC BAGS.
