Johnson County now has four confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one death connected to the disease. Kansas Department of Health and Environment continues to work with the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment and the CDC to identify and contact people who may have come into contact with the individual while they were infectious and will monitor them for fever and respiratory symptoms.
In Edgerton, staff continues to monitor the virus. We are following guidance from the CDC, KDHE, and Johnson County Department of Health and Environment about how to plan for and respond to the coronavirus. The City is encouraging employees to frequently wash their hands and stay home if they are sick. We are also sanitizing public facilities regularly by wiping down commonly touched surfaces, like door handles, light switches and counters.
The City would like to encourage every resident to take precautions to stop the spread of illnesses.
