The functional responsibilities of the Public Works Department encompasses planning, designing, and construction of the City’s infrastructure; managing the City’s environmental programs; operation and maintenance of the City’s storm water systems, streets and traffic control network.

The Public Works Operations Division is also responsible for snow removal on public streets. The division monitors weather forecasts closely to schedule crews in advance of winter weather to ensure the highest possible level of response for safe travel during the event .
