The Public Works Department is responsible for planning, designing, and construction of the City's infrastructure; managing the City's environmental programs; operation and maintenance of the City's storm water systems, streets and traffic control network.
Streets
The City of Edgerton is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 55 lane miles of streets and alleys. There are several methods the City's Public Works Department uses to maintain streets including:

Brush disposal
The City's brush disposal site is open by appointment only from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday during the summer. For the remainder of the year, the hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Call City Hall to make an appointment at 913-893-6231.
Only yard waste, like tree debris, bushes, leaves and grass, is accepted. Construction materials are not allowed.
Snow Removal
The Public Works Operations Division is also responsible for snow removal on public streets. The division monitors weather forecasts closely to schedule crews in advance of winter weather to ensure the highest possible level of response for safe travel during the event.
