
The City of Edgerton is seeking qualified applicants to serve as a Building Inspector. This position will work under the supervision of the Development Services Director. This employee interprets and enforces all aspects of the City's building construction, erosion and sediment control, blasting permits and related codes. The successful candidate is self-motivated and requires limited supervision. He/she must demonstrate a team-oriented approach to work and an ability to establish strong relationships both internally and with outside contractors, builders, and developers. This position will work under the supervision of the Assistant to the City Administrator. This employee is the official keeper of the City Seal and serves as the Freedom of Information Officer. This position is responsible for preparing for and attending all City Council meetings, including recording minutes and filing resolutions and ordinances. The ideal candidate is a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and is knowledgeable about the Kansas Open Records Act and Kansas Open Meetings Act. This position also serves as the City's HR liason to help connect employees with benefit programs and assists with open enrollment and new employee enrollment.
