
The City of Edgerton is seeking a Utility Maintenance Technician I. This position works under the direct supervision of the Utility Superintendent. This entry level skilled position will be assigned various basic duties and tasks necessary for the operation of public water and wastewater utilities and associated utility facilities for the City of Edgerton. The successful candidate is responsible for performing assigned duties for all phases of operation, maintenance, repair and upkeep of utility infrastructure, utility buildings, equipment, property.
This position performs work for both water and wastewater utility departments, including daily, monthly, and annual water monitoring and testing as well as regular inspections and cleaning of infrastructure.
The City of Edgerton offers a comprehensive benefits package to include medical, dental and vision insurance; participation in the Kansas Public Employee Retirement System (KPERS); supplemental retirement, including a 457(b); paid leave benefits, in addition to other voluntary benefit programs. The anticipated hourly wage depends on level of experience.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, and must successfully pass pre-employment screenings, such as background check, physical and drug check. Experience is not required, and the City will provide appropriate training for the successful candidate(s). If a candidate exceeds the qualifications of a Maintenance Technician I, the City could reserve the ability to hire the candidate at the Maintenance Technician II level.
