Assistant City Administrator

City of Edgerton, KS

Edgerton seeks an experienced, creative and collaborative local government professional to serve as the City’s Assistant City Administrator. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding leadership, personnel management and technical skills as he/she oversees the City’s human resources and other administration functions. This candidate will be an effective communicator comfortable with many different audiences, and will be a motivated self-starter who is organized, is able to handle multiple priorities and identifies creative solutions critical to oversee the implementation of the Governing Body’s vision for the community.

The ideal candidate will be a strongly committed individual with a positive record of achievement and a history of developing construction working relationships across all departments. A service-oriented manager who respects all employees, the Assistant City Administrator will foster a culture of accountability and maintain high morale throughout the organization. A strong political acumen and experience with working with elected officials will be essential.

The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field and have five to seven years of progressively responsible related experience, including supervisory experience. A master’s degree in public administration or business administration is preferred. Residency within the City of Edgerton is not required.
