Mayor’s Profile

Mayor

Local Roots. Growing the Future

Mayor Donald Roberts exemplifies the small town values and progressive spirit of the Southwest Johnson County region and the entire state of Kansas. As a life-long resident and community leader, he has worked to transform the city of Edgerton and the region in to a global logistics hub, while establishing and protecting a safe, family-oriented community.

Mayor Roberts consistently works with state, county, regional and local partners. His work with KDOT, Johnson County, and Johnson County Water District 7 has created new business opportunities in Edgerton through infrastructure investments.  The public dollars invested in Edgerton have led to more than a billion dollars in private investment.

Mayor Roberts played an integral role in negotiating the largest economic development project in the state of Kansas: Kansas City Intermodal Facility/Logistics Park Kansas City. He’s negotiated with the developers to ensure that the growth of the warehouses positively impacts taxpayers.  Because of LPKC, tax revenues are growing and Edgerton is able to complete projects that would not otherwise have been possible.  The City has been able to complete massive street reconstruction projects, renovate parks, and add miles of connected walking trails during his tenure, all priorities requested by residents.
