Activites, Events Postponed Due to Ongoing COVID Surge

Kara BanksCity News

The state of local disaster emergency declared by Mayor Donald Roberts on January 11th due to a surge of COVID-19 cases has been extended for an additional month. The City is postponing all city-sponsored recreation events and community events until February 18th. Rentals of Community Hall are suspended through the end of February.

“Safety continues to be our top priority,” says Mayor Roberts. “It’s important to keep all of our families and city staff healthy so that they can continue to work and care for this community. We hope this extension will be enough to get through this surge of COVID-19.”

EVENTS:

Parks and Recreation programming, including the Sweetheart Boogie, Tales for Tots, and Afternoon Tea Party, will be rescheduled at a date TBD.

The Edgerton Senior Committee has not made a decision yet about Senior Lunch. Committee members are closely watching the County’s COVID positivity rates. Please continue to check the City’s social media and website for updates.

PUBLIC MEETINGS:

Public meetings and State of the City will still be held in person at City Hall. Seating will be socially distanced and members of the public are encouraged to follow public health guidelines from JCDHE and the CDC.
