Ribbon Cutting for Glendell Acres Park on November 9

Construction on the Glendell Acres Park is wrapping up and we’re ready to celebrate! Join Edgerton Parks and Recreation for a ribbon cutting on November 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Glendell Acres Park on Edgewood Drive, between West 3rd and 4th streets.

Check out the new playground equipment, try out the ninja warrior style fitness court and bring your skateboards to grab some air on the new skate park. If you’d like to enjoy a more leisurely experience, you can stroll on the new paved trail or enjoy a snack under the pavilion. Everyone who attends will also get a chance to win a new custom skateboard, thanks to our partners at SWT Design.

The Glendell Acres Park Renovation started earlier this year to meet the needs and desires of the community. The City held public meetings and gathered input from residents about what they wanted in the new park.

“Glendell Acres Park is another opportunity for families of all ages to enjoy a totally upgraded park,” says Mayor Donald Roberts. “We know how important parks are for our city. Glendell Acres, in particular, is great for teens. I hope everyone will come out to the ribbon cutting!”

The renovation was paid for using park impact fees paid by LPKC and a waste tire grant from KDHE for the playground surfacing. The project includes new equipment, skate park, paved loop trail, shelter and
landscaping.
