The City of Edgerton ended 24/7 snow operations on Tuesday, January 7. Crews worked 12-hour shifts around the clock from noon on Saturday, July 3rd until 4:30 p.m. on January 7.

Under City Code, all sidewalks are required to be cleared of snow within 48 hours of the end of snowfall. Adjacent property owners must maintain the sidewalks, which includes removing snow and ice on the sidewalk. It is unlawful to place snow removed from private property onto public streets, alleys or sidewalks.

For ice or compacted snow, property owners may use ashes, sand or other noncorrosive chemicals to make reasonably safe for pedestrians. Owners or occupants who fail to clear the sidewalk may be cited in municipal court or the city may remove the snow or ice and assess cost of removal to abutting lot(s).
