Public information session held on major street reconstruction project

Several residential streets in the City of Edgerton will soon be repaired. Crews are replacing the entire road surface and making stormwater improvements to stop water from ponding on the roads during rain events.

A public presentation was held on July 31 to discuss the project and talk about the impacts for homeowners. Roughly 20 residents attended the presentation, which was given by Public Works Director Dan Merkh.

“We know this project will be messy and inconvenient for the people who live on these streets,” Merkh said, “but that’s why we’re condensing the timeline. The work should be substantially complete in November, weather-permitting.”

Information and updates on the project can be found at edgertonks.org/streetreconstruction.

The roads involved are:
W. Cumberland between 5th and 7th Streets
W. 4th Street between Meriwood and Edgewood
W. 5th Street between Cumberland and Edgewood
W. 7th Street between Cumberland and Edgewood
Shanandoah between 4th and 7th Streets
Heather Knoll Drive between 3rd Cir. and Edgerton Rd.
