The City of Edgerton contracts with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department for policing services. In 2020, Edgerton added a “power shift” which includes a dedicated officer in the residential community for 40 hours per week. To contact the Sheriff’s Office, call 911 or the non-emergency dispatch at 913.782.0720.
Fire District #1 – Johnson County serves Edgerton and the surrounding community. The fire station is located at the corner of 3rd Street and Nelson Road. Fire District #1 is also relocating their current headquarters and administration building to Edgerton. The new fire station along 191st Street near Homestead Lane is expected to improve response times and move the administration closer to the center of the fire district.
Emergency Management is handled through Johnson County, serving as the County’s designated disaster response agency and emergency operations center with the responsibility for all disaster and emergency management and response coordination.
