The Edgerton City Council will hold a special meeting on Thursday, July 16, at 7:00 p.m. at Edgerton City Hall to hear an appeal related to a proposed DAMAC Digital data center in an existing building at Logistics Park Kansas City (LPKC).
The appeal was filed after the Planning Commission denied the company’s final site plan application in June. During the July 16 meeting, the City Council will review the appeal in a quasi-judicial role, meaning Council members will determine whether the Planning Commission’s decision was legal and reasonable based on the record before them. This differs from the Council’s typical role of adopting policies and making legislative decisions for the City.
As part of the appeal, DAMAC Digital will have the opportunity to present its case and answer questions from the City Council. City Staff will present the position of the Planning Commission on the reasons for its decision. Because the Council is acting in a quasi-judicial capacity, public comment will not be accepted during the meeting. However, the meeting is open to the public, and the City Council will announce its decision before the meeting concludes.
The Council’s decision will apply only to this application. It does not prevent DAMAC Digital from submitting future applications for consideration.
Separately, DAMAC Digital has already submitted a revised final site plan application (FSP2026-0005). That application is not part of the July 16 appeal and has not yet been reviewed. It is scheduled to be considered by the Planning Commission during its regularly scheduled meeting on August 11, in accordance with the City’s 2026 Development Calendar.
Residents who would like additional information about the proposed project, including frequently asked questions, project documents, and updates, can visit the City’s DAMAC Data Center information page.
