The City of Edgerton offers a Residential Property Tax Rebate Program to provide tax relief to Edgerton residents who live in either a single-family home or duplex that meet certain requirements. The program is intended to reduce the tax burden resulting from rising home values.

In 2025, the average Edgerton home value increased 6%.
The City Council approved a 10% rebate on the City’s share of a homeowner's property taxes to help offset that increase.
Applications will be available from February 1, 2026 until September 30, 2026. Qualifying residents must show proof of fully paid property taxes at the time of application. See your tax bill information at this link.
Applications cannot be turned in until property taxes are paid in full. For homeowners with a mortgage, property taxes are often paid in two installments. The first payment is made in December of the prior year and the second installment in May of the current year. Rebates are not available until both payments have been processed.
Eligibility Requirements
To receive a rebate, you must:
- Own and live in a single-family home or duplex within Edgerton City limits

- Be current on property taxes and any special assessments
Who does not qualify:

- Property owners who do not live in Edgerton City limits
- Land owners where a home is not built on the property

The rebate is for 10% of the City portion of your total property tax bill.
