The City of Edgerton is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician I Public Works department. The City of Edgerton is a team-oriented environment, where employees work together to deliver quality services to the community. This is an entry level position and will be responsible for performing maintenance activities that include mowing and trimming, asphalt maintenance, facility maintenance and repair and other duties, as necessary. This position will also be required to perform snow removal and other emergency services on an as needed basis and the position is required to perform on-call duties.
The City of Edgerton offers a comprehensive benefits package to include medical, dental and vision insurance; participation in the Kansas Public Employee Retirement System (KPERS); supplemental retirement, including a 457(b); paid leave benefits, in addition to other voluntary benefit programs. The anticipated hourly wage for these positions starts at $18.08, varying depending on level of experience.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, and must successfully pass pre-employment screenings, such as background check, physical and drug check. Experience is not required, and the City will provide appropriate training for the successful candidate(s). If a candidate exceeds the qualifications of a Maintenance Technician I, the City could reserve the ability to higher the candidate at the Maintenance Technician II level.

The City of Edgerton is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for a new position focused on the City’s facilities and buildings. The City of Edgerton is opening a new community building in early 2025 called The Greenspace. This person will perform maintenance, repair and upkeep of all city facilities, public grounds and parks, as well as snow removal during the winter. The Maintenance Technician I also supports the Parks and Recreation Department programs, special events, and other activities of the City, and may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
