Holidays in Edgerton

Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund

Edgerton is blessed with a good quality of life and strong neighborhoods. But sometimes our friends and neighbors struggle. That’s why it is so important that we continue to support each other here in Edgerton. One of the best ways the you can help is through the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund.

What is the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund?

Edgerton has always watched over our neighbors by helping those who would otherwise not have the resources to celebrate the holidays with their loved ones by providing gifts, food and other items.

The Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund helps out people right here in our community all year long. Some of the projects done in the past include: renovating a bathroom to make it handicap accessible for a resident with MS; helping a resident who was in the hospital come home to a safe space; and giving gifts to families who would otherwise go without during the holiday season. Your tax-deductible donation can help make the holidays just a little brighter.

Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Kick off the holidays with the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Edgerton. Children from Edgerton Elementary Choir will perform before the Mayor and a special guest will flip the switch on the tree on December 6, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. This year’s ceremony will be held in the lawn next to The Greenspace.

After the lights come on, head over to Community Hall to meet Santa and enjoy some cookies and hot cocoa. Thanks to our sponsors at Edgerton United Methodist Church and Central Bank of the Midwest. Each child will also go home with a present.

Holiday Home Decorating Contest

The community votes for the best looking homes on the City’s Facebook page. You can also swing by City Hall during normal business hours to cast your vote.

Register your house or nominate your neighbor below. Submissions for 2024 are now closed. Thank you to everyone who sent in a photo. Please vote for your favorite on Facebook or at City Hall during normal business hours.
