The City-owned land at the corner of E. 3rd and Nelson streets had been zoned for Single Family Residential and Downtown Commercial.  Now it is all zoned for Downtown Commercial.  “The new zoning designation has design guidelines that are more appropriate for this new community gathering space,” says Development Services Director Zachary Moore.

The Greenspace features an approximately 13,000 sq. ft. building with meeting rooms, basketball and pickleball courts, walking track, catering kitchen, an outdoor stage and splashpad. A groundbreaking for the new building is expected this summer.

“The Greenspace will be the first brick building in downtown that Edgerton has constructed in 125 years,” says Mayor Donald Roberts. “This is a historic moment for our community.”
