Fireworks are legal in Edgerton, but stay safe

Kara BanksCity News

Fireworks are a favorite tradition for many families on the Fourth of July. This year, because July 4th falls on a Friday, the Edgerton City Council approved an additional day for families to buy and set-off fireworks. The additional day is only for 2025. The City of Edgerton encourages everyone to celebrate responsibly by following local rules and safety guidelines.

To report illegal fireworks use:
Call the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number at 913-782-0720. If someone is injured by a firework, call 911.

Fireworks sales are allowed in Edgerton from June 27 through July 5, 2025 between 8:00 a.m. and midnight each day.

All vendors must have a City permit and pass an inspection before they begin sales.
